Elasa is the European association of landscape architecture students. This independent, self financing, non-profit association brings together architecture students from all over Europe. The main mission of the organization is cooperation, exchanging of ideas and knowledge about landscape architecture.
The organisation was established in 1991 in Budapest. Currently it has 600 members from 26 countries. They work closely with professional organizations such as ELAN, EFLA and ECLAS.

Every year there is a conference organised by one of the member countries hosted by students. 26th August – 6th September 2007 the conference will take place in Poland. Hosts this year are students of landscape architecture at the School of Agriculture in Warsaw (SGGW). The focus of this year's conference is the river Vistula. Natural landscape of the river, largely unaffected by man and also the cultural character of each city in the river valley. The conference entitled "Along the Vistula river" involves a series of lectures and outdoor work following the route along the river taking in the towns and cities of Warsaw, Torun, Malbork, Kazimierz Dolny and Cracow.

During 12 days students from Europe led by tutors and they're Polish friends will have a chance to find out about the most valuable historical monuments in Poland, see unique riverside landscapes and familiarise themselves with Polish tradition and culture. Those in attendance will travel, listen to the lectures and then solve the project tasks during outdoor work.

All are invited to take a part in the conference or to follow the development of the work published on line or elsewhere.
